Missions Team
Purpose & Assignments
The Missions Team is involved with those program areas that directly relate to the North American Mission Board and the International Mission Boards of the Southern Baptist Convention.
The purpose of the Missions Team is to effectively involve individuals and churches in the establishing of healthy, growing and reproducing congregations which are accessible to every Iowan. The goal of 200 churches by the year 2020 has been established. To accomplish this goal we will encourage the education and mobilization of missionary volunteers from all sources within and outside of Iowa.
Program Assignments Include
- Church Planting - Assisting with the starting of new congregations
- Partnership missions (currently working primarily with the Tennessee Baptist Convention)
- Financial assistance to mission congregations
- Partnership Development
- Missions Education
- Language Missions
Missions Team
Our Executive Director gives statewide administrative leadership to the Missions Team, but the Directors of Missions are the primary missions contacts for their region. Their contact information and regional assignments can be found by selecting the associational missions tab on the home page.
