Associational Missions Team

When our Baptist forefathers came to America they brought with them the well developed concept and practice of the association. The association is much older than a state or national convention.

Defined, a Baptist association is a group of churches voluntarily cooperating together to be on mission in their own setting.
Our Executive Director gives statewide administrative leadership to the Missions Team, but the Directors of Missions are the primary missions contacts for their region. 

In Iowa there are seven associations: Great Rivers (east & southeast Iowa); Northeast served by Mike Roberts; Metro (central Iowa) served by John Shaull; North & South Central served by Roger Graves, and Southwest and Northwest served by Wes Jones.

The missionaries named above are associational directors of missions and church starter strategists funded jointly by the local association, the Baptist Convention of Iowa and the North American Mission Board. The resources for the funding come the Cooperative Program and the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for Home Missions.
